CSI 11 was successfully completed in November of 2011. The course mentored 2 graduates, allowing them to become comfortable and confident with their skills. They were given the opportunity to practice interview skills both in person and over the phone.
CSI 11 began its first week by introducing sports theory, followed by practical experience in the second week. Graduates were taught an in-depth view of the sales cycle, and had the opportunity to listen to many guest speakers who are experts in the field. Some guest speakers included Bill Makris (Senior Director of Ticket Sales for the Edmonton Oilers), Joe Lowes (Ticket Sales Manager for the Ottawa Senators), Jason Maglantay (Senior Executive, Corporate Sales of Tennis Canada), and Brandon Shaw (Corporate Sales Executive at Tennis Canada). All of these guest speakers provided insightful tips and information on how to be successful in the sports industry by recognizing the importance of ticket sales.
The second week of the course allowed the graduates to speak with representatives from the Toronto Argonauts, Toronto FC, the Toronto Marlies, and the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors. They were given the opportunity to interview with top executives from Tennis Canada, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Over the course of 2 weeks, CSI provided the graduates with the skills and tools necessary to take their career in sports to the next level.
CSI 12 will take place in May, 2012 and applications
are now being accepted.
