Cosmos Sports’ partner, the Brampton Beast Hockey Club, marked a monumental game in franchise history this past Monday, as the team hosted its first ever “School Day”.  With over 5,000 students and staff from the Peel District school board in attendance, the atmosphere inside the Powerade Centre early Monday morning was electric.

Prior to puck-drop the students were provided with fun and interactive entertainment led by MC Miguel Martinez.  Keeping in line with the game’s theme of “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind” students were given thunder-sticks as well as interesting and engaging activity booklets.  These giveaways for the students promoted both healthy eating and active lifestyle ideas and could be taken home to share with friends and family.

With Mike MacIsaac scoring only 34 seconds into the first period, it was clear from the very start of the game that the team was feeding off the seemingly endless energy of the fans. With the additions of a goal by Justin Donati, and Chad Painchaud’s third hat trick of the season, the Beast emerged victorious with a dominating 5-2 win.

Ultimately, the Beast’s first “School Day” game proved to be both a fun and exciting occasion for everyone in attendance, and will hopefully become a highly anticipated   event for students to look forward to in future Beast seasons.
