Thursday, September 27th 2012: They say what goes around comes back around. Everything is cyclical. It certainly happens in fashion; it also happens in sport. While it may feel like the Bills have been a part of the Toronto "sportscape" for a long time, in fact it was only 2008 when they first charged on to the field at Rogers Centre in front of 52,134 screaming fans. From that moment forward, Toronto sport would never be the same. The debate about the idea and possibility of an NFL team in Canada (specifically the GTA) would heat up and be cemented as a topic on sports talk shows nationwide
But before the bone rattling hits began taking place on the field, behind the scenes was a group of young motivated executives hitting the phones with as much ferocity. In its inaugural year, Rogers and the Buffalo Bills united with Cosmos Sports to act as the outbound ticket sales team for the series. The Cosmos team sold over $2 Million in tickets, securing what would become the loyal fan base for the series. Having risen through the ranks in the past 4 years, Bryan McGahey, now Director of Sales and Marketing for all of Cosmos Sports, was a key member of that team and had this to say about his experience working with the Bills Toronto Series:
"I started my career in sports working on the Bills in Toronto Series when tickets first went on sale in 2008. I believe that we provided excellent results in 2008 and I look forward to continued success for this year's game."
Which brings us to our top story of the week; Cosmos Sports is proud to be named ticketing sales partner to the Bills in Toronto game. This game will celebrate the NFL in Canada with the final game of the original series taking place Sunday December 16, 2012 against the Seattle Seahawks.
In a city that is well known for its hordes of beLEAfers, December 16, we're calling all BILLievers!
