Friday, April 12, 2013 Toronto Rush is the newest professional ultimate team to join the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) for the 2013 season. In charge of all of the business operations for the team, Cosmos Sports has been hard at work in preparation for the home opener against the New Jersey Hammerheads on May 4th. Playing out of Varsity Stadium, through a partnership with the University of Toronto, Rush will hold a massive home field advantage at each game.
With ticket sales continuing to climb, Cosmos Sports shifted it's attention to securing corporate partnerships for the team. After a strong presentation and proposal, the team came to an agreement with Telus to be the platinum partner of the Rush. This telecommunications giant is well known throughout Canada and has always been active in the sporting landscape. Also on board is Fox and Fiddle, set to host exciting pre-game tailgates and post game celebrations. As the central hangout location of Rush fans, Fox and Fiddle is a perfect match for the team. Cosmos Sports also engaged in agreements with A & C Games and Century 21.
In preparation for the ‘opening pull’ of the 2013 season, the Cosmos team prepared a vending strategy and was able to secure both Subway and Domino’s to be the official food providers of the Rush. Offering both in-game sales and post game discounts, Toronto Rush fans will be well fed as they cheer on the home team.
On Wednesday, April 17th at 11am, Cosmos Sports and Toronto Rush will be hosting a press conference to announce the team and kickoff the season. Taking place in the exclusive Pavilion Room at the University of Toronto, local media will be in attendance to capture the excitement. As the only professional and non-university team currently playing at Varsity Stadium, the Rush look to continue t o break new ground by capturing the AUDL championship later this summer
