Friday, August 22, 2014: On September 9th, Canada’s Men’s National Team will face off against the “Reggae Boyz” of Jamaica in an international friendly at BMO Field, to prepare for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. This will be Head Coach Benito Floro’s first home match as there will be players from Canada’s U-17 and U-20 squads battling for roster spots and looking to gain experience on a bigger stage. Canada and Jamaica played to a memorable 1-1 draw on August 20th, 2008 in FIFA World Cup qualifying, in front of 21,978 fans, a then record for BMO Field.
Cosmos Sports has been given the responsibility of assisting Canada Soccer with ticket sales and revenue generation for this exciting event coming to Toronto. Cosmos has previously worked with Canada Soccer in 2012, in which they also assisted with selling tickets and generating revenue for the three FIFA World Cup qualifying matches at BMO Field.
There is an assortment of ticket packages available for the friendly match on September 9th. Group tickets can be purchased at a discount of up to 30% off, and individual tickets are also available. There will be designated areas at BMO Field for Canadian supporters, and Jamaican supporters to encourage an intense, but friendly rivalry.
