Friday August 23, 2013 – The Brampton Beast have announced today the affiliation with Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL) and Syracuse Crunch (AHL) for the 2013-2014 inaugural season. The Beast will be the fourth team in the Central Hockey League to affiliate with an NHL team.

Lightning Vice President and General Manager, Steve Yzerman expressed his trust in the Beast organization, particularly while operating in a strong hockey market. "We take our developmental system very seriously and that is why we are here today. We are looking forward to working with the Beast, and continuing our minor league successes as they embark on their inaugural season as the first-ever Canadian franchise in the Central Hockey League."

Among the 500 guests in attendance, including honourable City of Brampton representatives were executive members from all three organizations. "The Brampton Beast is your team", says Gregg Rosen, owner of the Beast. "This is your affiliation. This is a community team and we have a lot ahead of us. We are going to have a wonderful season."

Syracuse Crunch Owner, Howard Dolgon, is excited to begin the partnership with Gregg Rosen, Beast President and GM, Cary Kaplan and spoke on the importance of having strong, reliable and well-managed hockey partners. The Crunch are entering into their 20th season in the American Hockey League, winning two division titles (2002 and 2013) and qualifying for the Calder Cup Playoffs in 11 of their 19 seasons.
