Friday, July 13th 2012:Many Canadians could not accurately recall the last time Canada has competed in the FIFA World Cup. This may be because the last time they qualified for this elite competition was 26 years ago in 1986.
However, the tide may be shifting as Canada has its eyes fixed on the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Cosmos Sports will once again be partnering up with the Canada Soccer Association (CSA) on their ticket sales campaign, and will be looking to fill the BMO Field with red & white supporters at the two remaining qualifiers that are approaching in September & October of 2012. Along with the recent successful partnership with the CSA, Cosmos has also conducted ticket sales operations with several teams and organizations, including the Edmonton Eskimos, the Buffalo Bills in Toronto, and the 2011 CIS Women’s Hockey Championship to name a few.
Cosmos Sports in association with the CSA will be looking to build off of their positive results from earlier this year. In a friendly match in June, Canada played to a 0-0 draw against an extremely tough and talented United States squad. Later in June, Canada played in two 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches; they traveled to Cuba for a 1-0 win and played to another 0-0 draw against Honduras at BMO Field in Toronto
When the men's national team looks to clinch a birth at the upcoming World Cup, Cosmos Sports and the CSA intend for it to be behind thousands of Canadian supporters.
