Internships
Cosmos Sports offers four month unpaid internships each semester, for those aspiring for a career in sports. You will be involved in the day-to-day operations of Cosmos Sports, actively working within several areas of the Cosmos Sports scope of business. Account Executives (interns) in the past have worked with the CTV Olympics, Bills in Toronto, CHL, and NFL.
At Cosmos Sports, interns have the opportunity to be involved in the numerous facets of the sports business world:
Marketing
Designing Strategic Business Marketing Plan for Wilfrid Laurier University Athletics.
Ticket Sales
At Cosmos Sports, interns have the chance to gain
experience in the foundation of sports business: ticket
sales.
Previous interns have worked with:
Laurier University - 2011 CIS Women's Hockey Championship, the 2011 Mastercard Memorial Cup, CTV Olympics, Trot magazine and Edmonton Eskimos.
Retail Sales
Working with Costco and selling Buffalo Bills, 2011 RBC Canadian Open, 2010 Grey Cup, Carolina Hurricanes and Milwaukee Bucks.
Branding
Past interns have worked with organizations such as the NHL, AHL, Arena Football league (AFL), the Toronto Nationals and Race Canada. In addition to this, interns have had the opportunity to establish the Pickfun.com brand with partners including the Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC and Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Consulting
Recent Interns have assisted with revenue generation training and consulting for Chicago Cubs, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, AFL, MLS, NHL, USHL and many more.
Recruiting
Handling and operating human resource management for Canada's largest sports specific job website Sportshiring.com; searching for quality candidates to fill sports industry positions for organizations such as DC United, Toronto Argonauts, MLS – National Sales Centre, Tennis Canada and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Corporate Sponsorship
Interns have the opportunity to gain experience in the planning, designing, & servicing for the largest sporting facility in Hamilton (Flamboro Downs) & Barrie (Georgian Downs) as well as Ryerson University, Ajax Downs and the Hamilton Nationals.
Event Management
Managing, brainstorming and contributing to events such as Extreme Horsepower and the Confederation Cup at Flamboro & Georgian Downs horsetracks and game day operations for the Hamilton Nationals of the National Lacrosse League.
